Tackling Loneliness at the Top

Executives and those in top leadership positions often experience loneliness.

Senior executives and entry-level employees are among the loneliest. Designing a social connection program with participation from these two groups could be a solution, but not without a challenge.

The most significant challenges are time and timing. How can we request one of the busiest people in the organization to take part in something that is not urgent? Given their limited availability, how can we schedule their time to engage in conversations on non-work topics? 

solution

The team used the Bump Call application to separate the event participants into two groups: executives and new-entry employees. Executives can join the “Event” whenever they are free by simply clicking “Bump On.” To ensure that executives have a chance to interact with new-entry employees, there are 10 new-entry employees for every one executive. Additionally, Bump Calls are limited to 5 minutes to minimize disruption and encourage casual conversations.
